Allison Pelyhes is in her second year at Elon University as Multifaith Coordinator at the Truitt Center for Religious and Spiritual Life. She is also in her second year as a co-advisor for the Ripple Conference.

In her role at Elon, Allison oversees the Numen Lumen speaker series, a cohort of Interfaith interns, the Interfaith House LLC, and works alongside university chaplains to assist students as she can spiritually or as a mentor. She also co-advises the Truitt Center’s Spring Break trip which will be to Pine Ridge, South Dakota this year to work with the Oglala Lakota community on the reservation. With Rev. Dr. Joel Harter, Associate University Chaplain and Director of the Truitt Center, she ensure the national Ripple Conference takes places every Spring.

As a graduate of Hope College in Holland, Michigan, Allison is thrilled to take her passion for interfaith communities and education to another campus. While at Hope, Allison received a dual Bachelor of Arts in Religion and Sociology with a minor in Peace and Justice Studies. In addition, Allison studied abroad in Muscat, Oman where she worked at the Al Amana Centre, an NGO devoted to Muslim-Christian relations within the Sultanate. She also studied Arabic and traveled around the Gulf to learn more about Muslim communities there. Allison was involved heavily in Residence Life and Admissions while at Hope and thrived in the liberal arts.

Additionally, Allison served as the Christian Coordinator for the Abrahamic Program for Young Adults at the Chautauqua Institution in New York.
In the future, Allison hopes to continue to graduate school to pursue Chaplaincy or further her work within Religious Studies or Higher Education. At the moment, Allison is quite content to serve Elon students, munch on all the baked goods her husband Daniel bakes at home and explore North Carolina.
